The Mpls Lakers is a non-profit 501 (C) 3, that was established to provide traveling basketball programs for boys and girls 4th-8th grade, who live in and/or attend school in Minneapolis. Our program is sanctioned by MYAS.
Our goal is to aid in the development of youth basketball skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship while having fun playing the game of basketball. We provide skill appropriate experiences for boys and girls, and are governed by a volunteer board that provides direction and oversight for the organization’s activities.
Would your son or daughter like to play basketball, but you feel it might not be financially feasible? You can apply for a needs-based scholarship here. Fill out the form and it will be confidentially submitted to our treasurer.
If you are awarded a scholarship you will be notified after our tryout process. If your son or daughter makes a team you will be given a code to use for team registration.
The Mpls Lakers community mourns the loss of Jeff Stevens, a dedicated coach, board member & friend. In his honor, we've established a player scholarship fund to continue his legacy. Read more
