Sept. 7-8 (Wed & Thurs)
Boot Camp-style training sessions designed to give your player a jump start for the upcoming season.
Boot Camp will emphasize mostly individual skill development. Players will be in small groups making a circuit to five different stations. At each of the stations (Stationary Ball Handling, Ball Handling, Pivoting, Shooting, Finishing) players will use their own ball. Instructors at each station will be current 8th graders in our program or alumni that play in the MPLS City Conference. During the last twenty-five minutes players will play 3v3, half court.

FORMAT
Two nights of basketball skill instruction!
Eligibility:

DETAILS
Masks will be required.
Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Please enter at the Minneapolis Sports Center entrance located to the Left of the YWCA entrance.
Please wear a mask to enter and check in at the registration desk
Players will bring: their mask, their basketball, a clearly labeled water bottle, and be wearing basketball shoes
During the camp, players will receive instruction from Mpls Lakers’ Coaches, Alumni, and veteran players.
Players should expect to work on their footwork, ball handling, shooting, and finishing.

Registration is limited to 50 boys & 50 girls.
GUEST SPEAKER
Kwadzo Ahelegbe played high school basketball at Tartan before playing collegiate basketball at University of Northern Iowa, leading the Panthers to a Sweet 16 birth his Junior season. Following his collegiate career, Kwadzo played professionally overseas before coming back to start his coaching career. He has been on the coaching staff of the Minnesota Timberwolves and most recently, the New York Knicks. He is also active in youth basketball, coaching for the Team Tyus AAU program and skills development at Athletic Gaines MN.
